Amid terror attacks in twin capitals of Jammu and Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday strongly advocated Indo-Pak dialogue to end the bloodshed.

Mufti accused the media of creating a hostile environment, wherein anyone who mulls to initiate dialogue with Pakistan is labelled as ‘anti-national’.

Mehbooba while addressing the last day of the state assembly said, “Unfortunately, some media houses have created an atmosphere that if we talk of dialogue (with Pakistan) then we are labelled anti-national.”

While asserting that peace can only be restored through the medium of dialogue, Mehbooba further urged the media to help in bringing back peace in the valley.

“We fought and won all wars against Pakistan but even now, today, there is no solution other than dialogue, till when will our jawans and civilians keep dying,” she said.

The Sunjuwan terror attack has left five soldiers among six dead and 10 others injured including a 14-year-old boy.

“Dialogue with Pakistan is necessary, if we want to end bloodshed. I know I will be labelled anti-national by news anchors tonight but that doesn’t matter. The people of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering. We have to talk because war is not an option,” she posted on her Twitter handle.

Jammu and Kashmir assembly observed a two-minute silence in the memory of five army men and a civilian who were killed in the attack.
