Remove Sidhu from committee, say colonisers

JALANDHAR: The city colonisers and property dealers on Monday urged the Congress to remove local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu from the five-member committee set up to finalise the policy for regularisation of unauthorised colonies.

Colonisers made the demand after Sidhu called the state colonisers ‘chor’ (burglars) during a press conference held here on Sunday. “Sidhu, who is holding an important rank in the government should not have made such a remark,” said district unit president of the colonisers and property dealers association Bhupinder Singh Bhinda.
