15 BILLS PASSED ON CONCLUDING DAY
The Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Thursday passed 15 Bills on the concluding day of the budget session. Besides the Criminal Law (Haryana amendment), Bill 2018 and the Haryana Group D Employees (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Bill, the other important bills are:
Maharishi Balmiki Sanskrit University, Kaithal, Bill : This bill was passed to establish and incorporate a teaching-cum-affiliating University at Kaithal to facilitate and promote higher education with special emphasis in Sanskrit literature, vedas, philosophy, Indian culture and indic languages and also to achieve excellence in these and connected fields.
University of Health Sciences, Karnal (Amendment) Bill: This bill aims at changing the name of the University from University of Health Sciences, Karnal to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayaya, University of Health Sciences, Karnal. Haryana Urban Development Authority (Amendment) Bill: This bill was passed for adopting the Hindi version of Haryana Urban Development Authority as Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran in both English and Hindi versions.
Haryana Municipal (Amendment) Bill: As per the amendment, the powers for removal of an elected person having any disqualification at the time of election would be vested with the state election commission so that such matters could be sorted out immediately in future and justice is done to the general public. Earlier, these powers for any disqualification lie with the state government. Haryana Kisan Kalyan Pradhikaran Bill:
Under this bill, the government will establish the Haryana Kisan Kalyan Pradhikaran to formulate and undertake a humanistic and holistic welfare based approach to address the difficulty faced by the farmers of the state and to provide relief to distressed farmers in varying and challenging situations.
Haryana Legislative Assembly (Salary, Allowances and Pension of Members) Amendment Bill: To rationalise the pension and allowances of ex-members of state legislative assembly.
Haryana Municipal Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Repeal Bill.
