Anganwadi workers burn state govt’s effigy

: Angawandi employees on Tuesday burnt an effigy of the Punjab government at the cremation ground here on Bibiwala road here as mark of protest in support of their demands. The protesters are demanding ₹10,000 and ₹5,000 salary per month to anganwadi workers and helpers. At present they are getting ₹5,600 and ₹2,800 salary per month. The anganwadi employees will also stage a dharna outside the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on March 26.
