2 truck drivers killed in Karnal accident
KARNAL: Drivers of two trucks were killed in an accident on the national highway-1 near Karnal in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Partap Singh of Ganaur in Sonepat district and Irshad Bhatt of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir
Police said the accident took place around 3.30 am when the driver of a truck coming from Delhi lost control and hit another truck, coming from the opposite direction, after crossing the divider. Both the drivers died on the spot.
The police said that the bodies of the two deceased were sent for postmortem to the Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and Hospital. The family members of the deceased have been informed. The police registered a case under Section 304 A of the IPC.
