DELHI DAREDEVILS SQUAD FOR 2018

-

Gautam Gambhir

Making a return to the team, the Delhi batsman will shoulder the task of helping end Daredevils’ long barren run. Having led KKR to two titles, he knows what it takes to marshall the team in IPL’s pressure-cooker atmosphere.

Amit Mishra

The leg-spinner could well make it count for Daredevils this edition. World cricket is seeing the rise of wrist spinners in short formats and the seasoned bowler, who has proved himself time and again, will be keen to meet expectations.

Kagiso Rabada

The South Africa pacer has proved of late that he is a potent force. In the Test series against India and Australia, the 22-year-old was a nightmare for the opposition with express pace and aggression on the field.

Mohammed Shami

Under the cloud due to a marital discord, Daredevils would hope the metronomic pacer is able to play the full season and delivers wickets like he can. BCCI has given him clearance to play, but the team will hope Shami stays focused, injury-free.

Trent Boult

The Kiwi left-arm pacer keeps getting better all the time. He has been in brilliant form, especially in the Test series against England. With lot of experience playing in IPL, he is expected to form a strong pace line-up with Rabada and Shami.

Glenn Maxwell

The Aussie power-hitter has a point to prove after KXIP did not go all out to keep him. With Ponting as guide, he will be a key batsman as one of the few 360-degree hitters in the game will be vital for the team if they are to win their maiden title.
