CELEBRATES 18 YEARS OF SUCCESS

-

Thank you, readers

Staying contemporary and credible is the most formidable challenge facing newspapers today. On this count, Hindustan Times has not only lived up to its reputation as a venerable media house, but also to its readers’ expectations. That’s a cause of satisfaction and inspiration as we celebrate the 18th anniversary of our Chandigarh edition.

Launched this day in 2000 to cater to Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, and Chandigarh, HT had set out to deliver a national newspaper with a distinct regional focus and flavour. It has since traversed a glorious path. It can now justly call itself north India’s most vibrant English daily. HT has redefined the way journalism is practised in the region, setting new benchmarks in editorial excellence.

All through, editorial innovation has been our key driver. That, and keeping readers at the heart of our efforts. HT has distinguished itself the most by its bold and unbiased reportage. It has earned a high measure of credibility by objective reporting and unflinching espousal of public interest.

For us at HT, this anniversary is an occasion to set our sights higher and assure our readers –while thanking them for their unstinted support and trust – that we will keep doing what has defined us so far: good journalism.
