2 Kashmiri men held from Punjab for hacking
JALANDHAR/NEW DELHI: Two suspected “pro-Pakistan” Kashmiri hackers have been arrested by Delhi Police’s special cell from Jalandhar and Rajpura on Friday. The two claimed to have hacked over 500 Indian websites.

Special cell teams of the Delhi Police arrested two suspected “proPakistan” Kashmiri hackers, in separate raids, from Jalandhar and Rajpura, on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
The two, accused of hacking over 500 Indian websites, have been identified as Shahid Malla, 28, and Adil Hussain Teli, 20, said PS Kushwah, DSP (special cell). Malla is a second-year B Tech student in a Rajpura college.
He belongs to Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir and was staying at a rented accommodation in Sheetal Colony, Rajpura. He had been staying at the paying guest accommodation for six months.
“The Delhi police have not disclosed anything. They have informed us that Shahid is needed in an FIR registered in Delhi. This is the only detail we have,” said Patiala SSP S Bhupathi.
Teli is a final-year BCA student in Jalandhar. He belongs to Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir and was staying at a rented accommodation in Gagan Vihar.
“As per their online activities and initial findings, the two were part of anti-national hacking group called ‘Team Hackers Third Eye’, and claimed to have hacked more than 500 Indian websites. They were also involved in educating Kashmiri youth to bypass state-imposed social media ban by use of VPN (virtual private network) during April-May 2017,” Kushwah added.
The duo was found to be in touch with several Pakistanbased anti-India hackers. Some of those hackers are believed to be backed by Pakistani intelligence agencies, Kushwah went on to add.
The duo was found to be “proKashmiri terrorism and proPakistan” as they had made made anti-India and seditious posts, the DCP said.
Laptops, mobile phones, SIM cards, internet dongles and memory devices recovered from them will be examined by the Delhi Police in detail to ascertain their role in anti-state activities.
Delhi deputy commissioner of police, cyber cell, Anyesh Roy told HT, “The group used to hack Indian websites to deface them. Their group had defaced many Indian websites, including that of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank.”
