Minor abducted, ‘gangraped’ by three men in Kartarpur

JALANDHAR: A 15-year-old girl was abducted and allegedly gangraped by three men in Kartarpur on Saturday, police said.

In her complaint, the victim’s mother said that her daughter was abducted by three men on Saturday.

“My husband and I work as labourers. When I came home from work on Saturday, my son told me that my daughter had gone to the fields to relieve herself. But when she did not return, I went to look for her. Some people informed me that three men had forcefully taken my daughter to the fields,” she said.

She said that around 7.30 pm, they found the girl tied up with a rope and her head injured, in a nearby field.

The complainan­t accused one Paramjit Singh alias Pamma, Sarwan Singh alias Butta and Sewa Singh for the crime.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Harjinder Kaur said the police have taken the victim’s statement after her medical checkup.

“The victim has said that two out of the three men used to follow her home from school,” the ASI said.

He said, “We will take further action in the case after getting the medical report from the hospital.We are conducting raids to nab the accused who are absconding. ”

The Kartarpur police said that on the complaint, they have registered a case under Sections 376D (gangrape), 336 A (procuratio­n of minor girl), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtheranc­e of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act against the three accused.
