Autopsy confirms sexual assault on Y’nagar girl

YAMUNANAGA­R: More than 24 hours after the body of a 6-yearold girl was found at a deserted place in Balegarh village of Yamunanaga­r, the police failed to get any clue about her killers. The autopsy has confirmed sexual assault. The victim is daughter of a migrant labourer from Gumla of Jharkhand who works at the farmhouse of former minister and Congress leader Nirmal Singh.

YAMUNANAGA­R: More than 24 hours after the body of a 6-yearold girl was found at a deserted place in Balegarh village of Yamunanaga­r, the police failed to get any clue about her killers.

The victim is daughter of a migrant labourer from Gumla of Jharkhand who works at the farmhouse of former minister and Congress leader Nirmal Singh. Even Singh has issued a statement demanding the police to arrest the accused and assured his all support to the aggrieved family.

The police had earlier detained two labourers from the same locality suspecting their involvemen­t, but they were released after interrogat­ion.

The police suspecting it a murder after rape, registered a case under Section 6 of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act and 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against ‘unknown person’.

Talking to Hindustan Times , Yamunanaga­r superinten­dent (SP) Rajesh Kalia said, “We are investigat­ing the case from the angle of murder after rape but as of now there is no clue about the accused.”

The victim had gone missing on Saturday afternoon and her body was recovered from a pit on Sunday morning. The victim’s throat was slit with a sharpedged weapon and there was blood on her private parts when her body was recovered.
