KHANUJA’S MOTHER ALLEGED THAT HER SON WAS FORCED TO TAKE THE STEP AFTER BEING ‘TORTURED’ BY THE CBI

An automobile dealer was found dead in his Raipur office on Tuesday, two days after he was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over the distribution of an alleged ‘sex CD’ of Chhattisgarh public works department minister Rajesh Munat, police said.

Raipur superintendent of police Amresh Mishra said the body of Rinku Khanuja, 40, was found hanging in his office at Gowardhan Chowk under Civil Lines police station limits.

“No suicide note was recovered from the spot. We have registered a case and started investigation from all angles,” Mishra said.

After the body’s recovery, Khanuja’s mother alleged that her son was forced to take the step after being “tortured” by the CBI.

Police said Khanuja was questioned by the officials in Raipur on June 1 and on June 3, after his name came up during the interrogation of a political leader and a businessman on May 31.

The CBI has been questioning about half a dozen people in connection with the case. Some were questioned on Monday too.

CBI spokesperson RK Gaur said in Delhi that Khanuja was one of the suspects. “When he left the agency’s office on June 3, he was asked to bring certain documents on Monday,” he said.

The Congress has demanded a high-level judicial probe into the death.
