Govt to appoint dental doctor at every primary health centre: Himachal CM
SHIMLA: Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday announced to appoint one dental doctor at every primary health centre in rural areas.
Thakur said his government will strengthen the existing health institutions and new ones will be opened only as per the requirement.
Thakur presided over the silver jubilee celebrations (Rajotsav) of Himachal Dental College and Hospital in Sundernagar, Mandi, on Sunday. Thakur accentuated upon creating awareness among masses on dental health.
“Government will ensure availability of a dental doctor in every primary health centre in rural areas in a phased manner,” said Thakur, adding that his government has added priority of far flung areas.
In his address, CM said government will fill up 1,000 posts of nurses and 2,000 posts of paramedics at the earliest. He said Mukhyamantri Nirog Yojana had been announced to check basic health parameters at the initial stage to prevent aggravation of any serious ailment.
Chief minister said the government had also made a budgetary provision of ₹10 crore under Mukhyamantri Chikitsa Kosh to cover the poor and needy with serious ailments.
CM announced enhanced special pay and uniform allowance for drivers.
CM Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday announced enhancing the special pay of the drivers of the state government from ₹800 to ₹1,000 per month which will give them financial benefit of ₹2,400 per year. Besides, he also announced increase in uniform allowance from ₹200 to ₹300. He said the finance department had already been directed to clear the pending medical and travelling allowance bills of the drivers and conductors at the earliest.
He spoke during the seminar of government and semi-government drivers and cleaners federation of Himachal Pradesh at Sundernagar.
