: Raising fingers at the National Conference and the Congress over the settlement of Rohingyas in Jammu, the Union minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Sunday said the government has taken a candid stand on Rohingyas and hence initiated a process to identify them and ultimately deport them to their native land.

Responding to media queries here, Dr Singh said Rohingyas, in Jammu and Kashmir, who by any dubious means managed Aaadhar cards and their names in voter list will not be considered valid.

“We also have to ensure that those in the administration who facilitated their settlement over here are also taken to task. The home minister in clear terms said they have to go back to their native land,” he said.

Dr Singh said whatever the home minister said on Friday in Jammu was an ample indication of a decisive action by the government.

“Continuation of their stay over here is going to pose number of problems. The government has initiated a process and also issued an advisory.

Their biometrics and other survey have been ordered to ensure that they are identified and those among them, who have obtained documents, do not take undue benefits,” he said.

It may be mentioned here that Jammu and Kashmir enjoys a special status guaranteed under Article 370 of the Constitution of India and no other Indian from other states can buy immovable property to get settled in the state.

Dr Singh said instead the question should be rasied on the Congress and the NC during whose rule Rohingyas clandestinely got settled here.

“Was there any one facilitating their clandestine settlement in Jammu? How they settled here and who allowed them here,” he asked.
