DC suspends five revenue officials for lapse in duty
OFFICIALS HAD MISINTERPRETED SOME FACTS IN A PROPERTY CASE IN COURT DUE TO WHICH A SITUATION TO AUCTION THE DC’S RESIDENCE AROSE
: Deputy commissioner (DC) Varinder Kumar Sharma on Friday suspended five revenue officials for a serious lapse in duty.
The deputy commissioner said the five officials, including kanungo Parminder Kumar, patwari Iqbal Singh, patwari Garib Das, naib special kanungo Vijay Kumar and special kanungo Vijay Kumar, have been suspended as they had, in connivance with some people, misinterpreted and misrepresented some facts in a property case to the local court and the administration due to which the situation of auctioning the official residence of the DC arose.
He said the officials also acted beyond the orders of the court for the attachment and auction of a property in Reru village in the district.
But these officials, for their own selfish ends, or callously included the properties of the bus stand and a government school on the Ladowali Road along with the deputy commissioner’s residence for attachment ing and auction.
“There was a serious lapse on the part of these officials in the performance of their duty. Had the officers performed their duty efficiently, embarrassment caused to the administration could have been avoided. Such callous and mala fide attitude was unwarranted and undesirable and cannot be tolerated at any cost,” the deputy commissioner said.
A detailed chargesheet is also being prepared against the erring officials.
