When you are thinking, the centre of being is head or brain. But when you feel deeply, the centre of being is your heart. The rose is beautiful. You can’t say that from the head since beauty is not measurable. When the heart meets with the rose, beauty flowers. Similarly, when your heart comes in deep contact with God, bliss is experienced. Beauty and love are the feelings which emerge from the heart.

Prayers using only head is a waste of energy, because the ego cannot meet the divine. When you pray through your heart, love emerges from the heart and God is attained.

Once a sadhak was doing sadhna under a tree, and asked sage Narada (who was going to Vaikuntha) to find out from Lord Narayana when he will get His Darshan. Narada conveyed his message to Lord, who said he will get His darshan after doing penance of numbers of year’s equivalent to the number of the leaves of the tree.

When Narada conveyed Lord’s message to sadhak, he was overwhelmed with joy, and fell down dancing, drowned in the flow of love. Just then, Lord appeared before him. Seeing Narada surprised, Lord said, “Sadhak was earlier was not praying through the heart. The message that he’ll get my darshan made him so excited that he called me with exclusive devotion.
