Venkateshwara temple: Credit war erupts between Cong and BJP leaders
Few hours after the doors of Venkateshwara Tirupati Balaji temple, set up near Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra, were opened for the public after its inauguration by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, a political tug of war for credits set off. Congress leaders took to social media to claim their share of credit for the setting up of the temple.
At the forefront of this battle was industrialist-turned-politician and Congress’ former MP from Kurukshetra Naveen Jindal, who took to Twitter and thanked former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, IAS officer TVSN Prasad and the labourers, who contributed in the construction of the temple.
The former MP even shared a photograph of former chief minister
BS Hooda laying the foundation stone of the temple in August 2012. In another tweet, Jindal tagged chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and thanked the Haryana government saying, “Jo karya hamne shuru kiya, usko pura karne ke liye Haryana Sarkar aur adhikariyo ka mai
abhar vyakt karta hu (I am grateful to the Haryana government for completing the projected started by our government”. He added, “Whichever government is in power, the good work should go on.” Later former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda also tweeted the same photo and congratulated Naveen Jindal for his contribution in setting up of the temple.
Following suit, Congress MP from Rohtak Deepender Hooda also congratulated the people of Haryana for having a Venkateshwara Tirupati Balaji temple in Kurukshetra. He also gave credit to former chief minister BS Hooda and former Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal saying, “Congratulations to former CM and former Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal for their efforts in setting up the temple”. The construction of the temple was started during the Congress regime in 2012 after the Kurukshetra Development Board allocated the land for the temple on lease.
