MAJHA LEADERS WARN KHAIRA AGAINST SPLITTING PARTY

-

AMRITSAR:A day after former leader of opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira hinted at launching a new third front in Punjab, AAP’s Majha leadership appealed him not to split the party.

AAP’s Majha president Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, while addressing a press conference, said, “Volunteers of Punjab have worked quite hard to build the party and on behalf of them and the leadership of Majha region, I appeal Khaira not to even think about splitting our party.”

Khaira, while addressing a convention in Hoshiarpur’s Garhshankar, had said he wanted to give Punjab a third alternative other than the Congress and the Akali-BJP combine.

Dhaliwal said, “Khaira rebelled against the Delhi leadership, including Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, after he was removed from the post of the leader of opposition. He is fighting against his removal, not for the people of Punjab. Instead of indulging in antiparty activities, Khaira should fight for Punjab’s problems such as drug menace, unemployment, and agrarian crisis.”

“I and Khaira had joined the AAP in December 2016. Khaira got ticket from his constituency, became an MLA and then the leader of opposition in the Punjab assembly just because of AAP. I did not get any such post in the party. There are many more volunteers in the party like me who have not got plum positions, but we are still loyal to the party,” Dhaliwal said.
