‘A political vendetta’

-

KARNAL: Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ashok Tanwar on Tuesday accused the BJP government in the state of promoting political vendetta by registering first information reports (FIRs) against former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra.

Tanwar, who was in Karnal to hold a meeting of party workers, said, “The registration of FIR is politically motivated. After ruling for four years, BJP has now registered the FIRs and it is enough to prove that the party is worried about the increasing popularity of the Congress party.”

“The government is trying to divert the attention of people by raising such issues. The BJP even politicised the death of a newborn for its political gains,” he added.

Tanwar said the HPCC will hold district-level protests between September 7 and 15 over the issues, including alleged corruption in Rafale deal, demonetisation and increasing prices of petrol and diesel.

POL-KHOL RALLY FROM SEPTEMBER 7

“On September 30, the Congress will hold a state-level Pol-Khol rally to expose the anti-people policies of the BJP government,” he added.

He, however, advised the party workers and leaders not to go overboard while talking to the media. On the formation of a new political party by BJP rebel MP Raj Kumar Saini, Tanwar asked, “How a person, who himself is a threat to the democracy, can form an outfit called Loktantra Suraksha Party?”
