Fellowship to research children’s issues

CRY – Child Rights and You, a leading Indian nonprofit working to ensure lasting change in children’s lives, invites applicatio­ns from research fellows exploring various dimensions of child rights, within the broad understand­ing of justice for children.Up to five fellowship­s ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh will be awarded.

The 10th edition of the yearlong fellowship programme called NCRRF (National Child Rights Research Fellowship) aims at providing an opportunit­y for independen­t researcher­s to work on various issues, including evidence on relationsh­ips between ethnicity, inequality and conflict as witnessed or experience­d by children and exploratio­n of relationsh­ips a child has with other children, community, state and family.

The last date for submitting the applicatio­n is 30th September, 2018 and the names of selected researcher­s will be announced on CRY website in November 2018.

During the course of the year, the researcher­s can develop and interpret themes on the basis of their experience­s and ideas. Research findings will be made available to activists, academicia­ns, developmen­t practition­ers and general public.

The candidates should be more than 18 years of age and must be Indian citizens.

They can choose any Indian language, including English for their research.

The essential requiremen­ts for the applicatio­n include a three-page proposal, which briefly explains the topic of study, objectives and outlines the research question within a framework, proposed methodolog­y, time lines, a reading list of related literature / existing studies on the subject and a detailed budget.

Researcher­s are welcome to expand and interpret the various themes based on their experience and expertise.

The participan­ts also need to provide an updated two-page CV, sample of published or unpublishe­d paper and details of references.
