Married woman gangraped in Kaithal village by 7 men

KARNAL: A 25-year-old married woman was allegedly kidnapped and gangraped by seven men in a village of Kalayat sub-division of Kaithal district.

Though the incident took place two-and-a-half months ago, the victim lodged a complaint at the office of Kaithal SP Astha Modi recently. The SP than directed the police station concerned to register an FIR.

The police said the victim alleged in her complaint that accused Raju and Sonu of her village came to her house on the evening of June 22 and gave her a drink laced with some intoxicant­s. They took her on a bike to a deserted place. Five of their accomplice­s, including Suresh Kumar of Bahri village of the district, were already there and all of them raped her. She alleged that after the incident, they threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anybody.

Talking to HT, investigat­ion officer Rekha Devi said the victim had filed a complaint in the SP office on September 5, but has now gone inaccessib­le. She said the victim has reportedly left her in-laws’s house and moved somewhere else.

She said that as per her complaint, an FIR was registered Raju, Sonu, Suresh and four unknown persons under Sections 376 D, 328 and 506 of IPC. Efforts are on to arrest the accused, she added.

GIRL GANGRAPED IN MAHENDERGA­RH

HISAR: A girl was allegedly gangraped by three unidentifi­ed youths at Kanina in Mahenderga­rh district on Wednesday.

In her complaint to the women police station at Rewari, the victim alleged that she was going to a coaching centre when the accused accosted her and started asking her about the location of the centre.

During the conversati­on, the allegedly offered her water laced with some intoxicant. After drinking the water, she fell unconsciou­s and the accused took her to some unidentifi­ed place and gangraped her, she charged, adding that after committing the crime, the accused fled the spot.The victim narrated the incident to her parents who took her to the police station to report the matter.

Women police station in-charge Heeramani Devi said, “After medical examinatio­n of the victim, we registered a zero FIR against three unidentifi­ed youths and sent it to Kanina police for further investigat­ions.”
