FIR ALSO REGISTERED AGAINST 11 KARNAL VILLAGERS FOR HELPING THE ACCUSED

KARNAL :The Kaithal police have booked 18 people, including seven policemen, on the complaint of a 15-year-old girl, who alleged that she and her mother were allegedly raped by an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and held hostage at her house while others helped him.

As per the complaint lodged at the office of Kaithal superintendent of police (SP), the victim alleged that the ASI with the help of 11 villagers, including sitting and former sarpanches, allegedly raped her and her mother and illegally confined them in her house.

Notably, the victim had filed a complaint of molestation against her father about two months ago.

She has now alleged that the accused had forced her to file the complaint against her father on pistolpoint.

She alleged that the ASI had raped her and her mother while the villagers were sitting outside the house. The other cops, who posted at the Kalayat police station did not act when she and her mother approached them, she charged.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Kaithal superintendent of police (SP) Astha Modi said an FIR has been registered against seven policemen and 11 villagers, under Sections 376 D, 323, 384, 506 and 120 B of the IPC and Section 6 of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act and started investigations. “We are still working out as to which sections will apply to various accused ,” she added.

SIT TO PROBE CASE

The SP said a special investigation team (SIT) has been formed under Kaithal DSP Ram Kumar and Kaithal women police station in-charge to assist him in the investigation.

She said that in her complaint the girl also alleged that about two months ago she had accused her father of molestation, but now she claimed that she was forced to lodge the complaint against her father as some villagers, wanted to implicate him in a false case with the help of the policemen. “No arrest has been made so far as investigations are on,” she added.
