Woman dies after falling from 8th floor
A 32-year-old woman executive of a private bank died after allegedly falling from the internal balcony of the eighth floor of her house in an upscale condominium on the GurgaonFaridabad road on Saturday night, said the police.
The deceased was identified as Deepika Chauhan, 32, who worked at a private bank in the Cyber City. Her husband, Vikram Chauhan, 34, is a senior executive in a city-based private company, which is engaged in the operations of toll plazas.
The death was reported to the police by the security agency of the condominium around 10.15pm. She was rushed to a private hospital in Sector 51, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Deepika’s father, however, alleged that his daughter was murdered. Based on his statement, the police have registered a case against Vikram under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code at the DLF Phase-1 police station.
The police said the complainant, a resident of Chandigarh, told the police that his son-in-law had an extra-marital affair with a woman who lived in the same locality, and that Deepika and Vikram argued frequently over this issue.
“According to preliminary investigation, the couple had an argument on Saturday night. The police is collecting evidence and a case has been registered,” said Vinay Yadav, in-charge Gwal Pahari police post, adding that police did not recover any suicide note from the spot. A senior police official requesting anonymity said, “The case is complex and tricky. No arrest has been made as yet.” The police also said the couple, who had a love marriage over six years ago, has a fouryear-old daughter and a fivemonth-old son. HTC
