Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday accused the BJP government in Haryana for neglecting government schools and hospitals even as chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has spent more than Rs 10 crore on his air expense.

Addressing a public meeting at Chanot village of Hansi subdivision in Hisar district, Kejriwal urged the people of Haryana to elect an AAP government in the assembly elections next year to secure their future as previous governments run by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), BJP and Congress have failed to do so.

Referring to recent media reports, Kejriwal said Khattar has spent more than Rs 10 crore on his air fare during the past four years.

“Kuch theek karna hai to zameen par chalo Khattar ji. Hawa me udd kar kya baccho ka future banaoge? (Stay grounded, Mr Khattar if you want to improve the future of children. How will you ensure their future if you remain airbone),” he quipped.

Kejriwal also threw an open challenge to Haryana CM for comparing schools and medical facilities being provided by the AAP government in Delhi with those giving by the Haryana government. “Though I wish that nothing may happen to CM Khattar, but if he falls ill he can visit a mohalla clinic in Delhi, which has more facilities than civil hospitals in Haryana,” he added.

Delhi’s deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who visited a government at Chanot to see the facilities being provided by the Haryana government, criticised the the latter for poor facilities in schools. He claimed Chanot school authorities tried to clean the school as soon as he entered, but forgot to clean the spider web on the walls. “Spider webs on school walls are like webs on the future of children.”
