Need to promote gurukul education in India: UP CM
KURUKSHETRA: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday stressed the need to spread traditional gurukul education to all parts of the country.
“This is a matter of worry that our traditional education is limited to some particular places or region. There is a need to spread this education to the entire country as this would encourage students to take the nation forward,” said Adityanath, while speaking at the annual function of a gurukul here.
Without naming, Yogi also alleged that there is a leading educational institute in the country, which is being run on the money of tax payers, organises beef party and holds antiIndia activities, by raising slogans in favour of independence of Kashmir, which is highly condemnable.
“Have you heard that an institute in the country did not celebrate Ram Navmi, but organised a programme to celebrate the birthday of Ravana”, he said, adding that teachings of Bhagwad Gita should not be limited to Kurukshetra only, but taken to the entire country
“We have highest number of youths, but if they are given the gurukul education, there energy could be utilised to make Bharat a world leader,” he added.
He also expressed his concern over increasing use of pesticides in Haryana and Punjab, saying that the blatant use of harmful chemicals was affecting health of people badly and there is need to promote zero-budget agriculture on the pattern of gurukul.
