Three booked for attacking two in Tarn Taran

ONE OF THE VICTIMS HAD COMPLAINED AGAINST MOLESTATIO­N OF HIS SISTER BY THE ACCUSED

: Three persons were booked here on Saturday for attempt to murder after they assaulted a man and his friend for complainin­g against the molestatio­n of the man’s sister by the accused at Teja Singh Wala village under the Patti Sadar police station in Tarn Taran district.

The accused have been identified as Lovepreet Singh, his brother Simmo and father Gurbhej Singh of Teja Singh Wala village. The complaint filed by the 21-year-old girl stated, “On October 30, at around 10 am, I was waiting for a bus at Bakipur village bus stand when one of the accused Lovepreet reached there and started harassing and molesting me. When I opposed him, he threatened to kill me.”

She said, “After reaching home, I told everything to my parents. On November 2, my brother and his friend had gone to Lovepreet’s home in Teja Singh Wala village for complainin­g about the incident. But, instead of apologisin­g, the accused attacked my brother and his friend. Lovepreet also opened fire from his pistol. One of the shots hit at my brother’s friend and he was injured.”

She said, “People of Teja Singh Wala village rushed my brother and his friend to the civil hospital in Tarn Taran from where my brother’s friend was referred to GND Hospital in Amritsar.” A case has been registered.
