MLA Lal Singh to field candidates

-

: The ‘firebrand’ former BJP minister and MLA from Basholi assembly constituency, Choudhary Lal Singh on Saturday said he will field candidates for the panchayat elections, scheduled to take place from November 17.

Singh had launched the Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan in July to fight for the dignity and cause of Dogras.

Notably, Panchayat elections were fought apolitically, on a non-party basis.

“Our candidates will win in the upcoming panchayat polls,” he said, adding that the Sangathan is getting an over-whelming response from people.Singh, who has become a major force to reckon with for his back-to-back rallies seeking CBI probe into the Kathua rape and murder case, said, the process to select candidates for panchayat elections across Jammu has already started.

He said the polls will prove the strength of the sangathan and he will continue with the mission to fight for the rights and pride of the ethnic Dogra minority of J&K.

“People of Jammu, irrespective of their caste, creed, colour or religion, have always been neglected by the successive Kashmir centric governments, but time has changed now.

The Dogras of Jammu are no longer ready to tolerate further discrimination,” he said.

Singh announced appointment of Hari Dutt Shishu as general secretary of sangathan. Singh and cabinet minister Chander Parkash Ganga were sacked for their presence at a Hiranagar rally seeking a CBI probe into Kathua case. HTC
