Expelled Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Digvijay Singh Chautala on Monday hit back at the party for describing the November 17 meeting of the INLD state executive convened by his father Ajay Chautala in Jind as “unconstitutional.”

Referring to INLD spokesperson Praveen Atri’s Monday remarks, he said, “Will someone who joined the party a couple of years ago decide what is unconstitutional with regard to one of the seniormost party leaders who has worked for the party for the past 40 years?”

Digvijay, former president of the party’s student wing Indian National Students’ Organisation (INSO), who was expelled along with his elder brother and Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala from the party on November 2 on charges of hooliganism at INLD’s Gohana rally on October 7, was talking with mediapersons in Sirsa.

“This is a farce that the people who have been in the party for just 2-3 years are commenting on seniormost party leaders,” he said.

Ajay, who is secretary general of the INLD, had recently come out on a two-week parole from Delhi’s Tihar jail, where he is serving ten-year sentence along with his father Om Prakash Chautala, former chief minister, in the JBT teachers’ recruitment scam.

Notably, Digvijay and Dushyant were expelled from the party at the behest of Ajay’s younger brother Abhay Chautala, who is leader of opposition in Haryana assembly and is steering the party in the absence of OP Chautala and Ajay.

NAINA CHAUTALA TO HOLD ‘HARI CHUNARI CHAUPAL’ IN SIRSA

Meanwhile, Ajay Chautala’s wife Naina Chautala, who is MLA from Dabwali, plans to hold a ‘Hari Chunari Chaupal’ at Jamal village of Ellenabad subdivision of Sirsa district on November 16.

Through such meetings, Naina wants to take the concept of women empowerment to the grassroot level in the villages of Haryana.

Notably, Ellenabad is considered a stronghold of Abhay Chautala.
