In Haryana, the condition of govt hospitals and schools is very bad and this is forcing the people to visit private schools and hospitals for better medical facilities and treatment. ARVIND KEJRIWAL, Aam Aadmi Party presedent and Delhi CM

: “Mai Arvind Kejriwal bollu hu, Dilli ka mukhyamantri (I am Arvind Kejriwal speaking, chief minister of Delhi)”, with this recorded voice phone call, speaking in earthy Haryanvi, the Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party president Arvind Kejriwal is trying to impress the people of his home state. He also promises better schools and hospitals in the message.

In the 55-second recorded voice call being received randomly by the people of Haryana since November 13, Kejriwal is heard telling how he has improved the education and medical services in Delhi and how the neighbouring BJPruled Haryana was lagging far behind.

“Dilli ma hamne sarkari school ar hasptal bohat badiya kar diye, ek din tame nikal ke aap bhi aao na dekhan waste, aapne bhi lagega maare Kejriwal ne kitna kaam krya hai (We have improved the government schools and hospitals in Delhi to a great extent, take some time out to look for yourselves. You will know how much work your Kejriwal has done”, he says in the call, making an appeal to the listeners.

He further informs the listener how his government did not allow private schools to increase their fee and many were even told to refund the fee already taken. “But in Haryana, the condition of government hospitals and schools is very bad and this is forcing the people to visit private schools and hospitals for better medical facilities and treatment,” Kejriwal says in the message.

Kejriwal, who is scheduled to visit Karnal’s Bal Pabana village to inspect a dispensary on November 17, even targets his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar for failuring to do anything for Haryana. He says, “Jab hamne teen saalan mai itna kaam kar diya, fer Khattar saab ne char saalan mai kyu ni kara? (When we’ve done so much in three years, why didn’t Khattar do his bit in four years?)”

The Delhi CM further says, “Khattar accused me of lying, but I invited him to visit Delhi and see our working. But he got scared and did not come.”

He also alleged that leaders of opposition parties in Haryana were suffering infightings for the chief ministerial candidates.

“You should not vote for them and ensure the AAP is voted to power, and we will work more than Delhi in Haryana,” Kejriwal says.

Meanwhile, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, during his visit to Karnal, refused to respond to Kejriwal’s invitation and avoided answering to allegations of poor condition of hospitals and schools in Haryana saying, “Kejriwal is working to grab headlines. Even I can point out flaws in Delhi but I don’t want to count the drawbacks of others.”

Similarly, former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that Kejriwal was trying to mislead the people of Haryana as he has “failed in Punjab, but he would have nothing in Haryana”.

When contacted, AAP’s Haryana president Naveen Jaihind said, “These phone calls would have a big impact on the people of Haryana as the AAP government has improved several facilities in Delhi, which is not even a complete state. Then why couldn’t the Haryana government bring any change?”

On whether Arvind Kejriwal was trying to take advantage of being Haryanvi, he said, “Kejriwal belongs to Haryana and the people of Haryana should feel proud on his becoming the CM of Delhi. He said that Kejriwal would soon increase his presence in Haryana.
