NEIGHBOUR SUSPECT IN KIDNAPPING OF 16YROLD GIRL
A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped from her house in a slum area in Sector 47 in the early hours of Tuesday. The police said the girl’s family filed a complaint on Tuesday alleging that a man from neighbouring Samaspur village, with whom the girl was acquainted with, had kidnapped her.
The police said that according to the complainant, the girl’s mother, she was missing since 4 am.
The investigating officer, requesting anonymity, said that the family suspected the role of a Jhansi native, who was staying in Samaspur village.
“The family suspects that he has lured their daughter with the intention of marrying her. A local villager had gone to the house of the accused, but his house was found locked,” said the officer, adding that the girl’s family had not had any contact with the girl ever since she was found missing.
A case was registered against the accused man under sections 363 (punishment for kidnapping) and 366 A (procuration of minor girl) of the Indian Penal Code at Sadar police station, said the police.
On November 5, an 18-yearold was allegedly kidnapped from her house in Tajnagar, Farrukh Nagar, a fortnight before her marriage was scheduled. The family had filed a complaint with the police alleging that a man from a neighbouring village, had kidnapped her.
