RAMAN DHAKA SAYS HIS LOYALTIES ARE WITH THE INLD, THE PARTY THAT HAS EXPELLED INSO FOUNDER AJAY CHAUTALA

CHANDIGARH: National vice-president of the Indian National Students Organisation (INSO), Raman Dhaka, resigned from his post on Sunday. INSO is the student wing of the INLD. Dhaka’s move follows INSO founder Ajay Chautala’s announcement on Saturday that he would be floating a new party on December 9.

Ajay was expelled from the INLD by his father and the party’s national president, Om Prakash Chautala, on Wednesday. “INLD’s student wing was founded by Ajay Chautala who is now floating a new political party. But, my loyalties are with the INLD,” said Dhaka.

Dhaka had joined INSO in the year 2010 and worked to strengthen the party on Panjab University Campus, Chandigarh, colleges in the city, and universities of Haryana. He added, “I joined this party for Om Prakash Chautala, who was a dynamic leader of the INLD. Now, the INSO is working independently of the INLD.”

NEW INLD STUDENT WING COULD BE FORMED

Sources told HT that a new student wing might be floated by the INLD to mobilise youth voters in 2019. The buzz in the party is that the INSO will fall under the new party, ‘Jannayak Janta Dal’, that Ajay will float as many student members are loyal to Dushyant, his son.
