home minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said that Pakistan was attempting to destabilise India through terrorist elements.

“Pakistan is not mending its ways despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi trying his best to make cordial relations with Islamabad. Pakistan is trying to destabilise India through terrorist elements,” Singh said as he addressed ‘panna pramukh sammelan’, ameeting of BJP workers, in Mandi.

Singh also stated that the situation will not improve unless the government of Pakistan takes right initiatives to eliminate the menace of terrorism.

“Only a faithful and committed Pakistan government can stop terrorist activities because terrorists are using their land for organising training camps,” he said.

The home minister slammed Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for “doing nothing except expressing grief and regret” over acts of terrorism. “Pakistan is the land of terrorism as it gives shelter and patronage to terrorists. A terrorist attack took place on the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan but the Pakistan PM only expressed his regret, but did nothing about it,” Singh said.

‘TOLD BSF TO RETALIATE WITHOUT CARING FOR PEACE’

The minister said security forces were neutralising terrorist almost every day in Jammu and Kashmir effectively, but unprovoked firing from across the border was taking a toll on Indian soldiers. “I have instructed the Border Security Force to retaliate cross-border firing from Pakistan without caring for peace. Our BSF showed them the white flag 16 times but I told them that if they fire even a single bullet again, then you should retaliate without counting bullets,” Singh said.

‘CONG RULE WAS AN ERA OF CRISIS OF FAITH’

Slamming the Congress, Rajnath said public lost faith in democratic values and political system during party’s rule for 60 years. “Congress rule was an era of crisis of faith. It was BJP that retained and protected their faith,” he said.

The minister targeted former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and said, “She nationalised banks to provide benefits to the rich whereas PM Narendra Modi popularised bank services to facilitate common public.”

The rally was also addressesd by HP CM Jai Ram Thakur, party state president Satpal Satti and leader Shanta Kumar.
