RSS, INDIA ARE SYNONYMOUS: KRISHNA GOPAL

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and India are synonymous with each other, and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has conveyed that message to the world by attacking the organisation at the UN General Assembly (UNGA), RSS’s joint general secretary Krishna Gopal said on Saturday.

“RSS is only in India. We don’t have any branches anywhere in the world. If Pakistan is angry with us it means they are angry with India. RSS and India are synonyms now. We also wanted the world to see India and RSS as one,” Gopal said at a public event in the capital in reaction to the statements made by Khan on Friday.

“Imran sahab has done this job very well and we congratulate him for that. He is spreading our name,” Gopal added.

At the UNGA, Khan on Friday quoted a statement made by a former Indian home minister attacking the RSS. “The previous Congress home minister gave a statement that in RSS camps, terrorists are being trained,” Khan said. He also referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ties to the RSS and alleged that the Sangh is “inspired by German dictator Adolf Hitler, Italian dictator Benito Mussolini”. “RSS believes in the ethnic cleansing of Muslims. RSS goons butchered hundreds of Muslims. This is arrogance. This makes people do cruel things. Something PM Modi has done. Arrogance has blinded PM Modi,” Imran said.

Imran Khan’s speech was against the backdrop of recent developments in Jammu and Kashmir, which has lost its special status under the Constitution following the Indian government’s decision to revoke Article 370.
