Renuka Bishnoi have been winning from this seat since 1968. The constituency has a dominant Jat vote-bank followed by a substantial Bishnoi population. Following delimitation in 2007, polling booths of Bhattu Kalan (now abolished) and Hisar assembly constituencies were added to the Adampur segment.

WHY IT IS A HOT SEAT

After his son suffered a humiliating defeat in the Lok Sabha elections and went down by 23,227 votes in Adampur segment, retaining this seat is a matter of family prestige for Congress' Kuldeep Bishnoi. The new outfit, JJP, was polled 19,000 votes in the segment. The family member of former CM Bhajan Lal has been winning this seat for the past five decades. Generating heat in Bishnoi's bastion is BJP nominee and a small screen sensation Sonali Phogat, who is popular on social media with a huge fan following. Her entry has turned this political bout one of the most keenly watched contests.

2014: Kuldeep Bishnoi as nominee of HJC (BL) defeated INLD’s Kulveer Beniwal by 17,249 votes.

2009: Kuldeep Bishnoi won by 6,015 votes, defeating Jai Parkash of Congress

CASTE EQUATIONS

Among the largest number of voters in Adampur are over 50,000 Jats who are spread across majority of the villages in the constituency. Following Jats are over 40,000 Bishnoi community voters, around 25,000 Scheduled Caste and 10,000 Punjabi voters.
