Altercatio­n starts between an advocate and police personnel over parking of his car outside lock-up of Tis Hazari courts.

A violent clash breaks out between advocates and police, both groups accuse each other of assault and vandalism.

Separate video clips emerge on social media. One shows around 30 lawyers beating up police officers. Another shows 10-15 police officers beating a lawyer.

At least two jail vans vandalised. Police jeep and three-four bikes torched. Police say an additional DCP and other police officers were manhandled.

Lawyers allege police personnel lathi-charged lawyers, fired bullets, and vandalised their chambers. Two advocates suffered gunshot injuries.

More than three dozen people, including lawyers and police personnel, are injured.

The prisoners are rescued.

Police form SIT.

A fourth FIR is filed on the complaint of the district judge, regarding the violence and damage to public property.

Some lawyers hold a protest at Tis Hazari Court Forensic teams, along with SIT members, visit the court to collect evidence Two policemen involved in the brawl with advocates are suspended.

Delhi High Court bench takes suo motu cognisance of media reports of the incident. A judicial inquiry heralded by a retired judge is announced. HC directs police commission­er to transfer special commission­er (law and order, north), Sanjay Singh and additional DCP (north) Harinder Singh during pendency of probe.
