Class 12 Hindi paper leak video: Panipat police register FIR

AN EXAM SUPTD HAD TOLD POLICE THAT CAME ACROSS A VIDEO ON WHATSAPP WHERE SOME PEOPLE WERE SEEN SOLVING CLASS 12 HINDI QUESTION PAPER

KARNAL: Hours after a video surfaced on social media where some people were seen solving the Class 12 Hindi paper being conducted by Board of School Education Haryana, the Panipat police have registered a first informatio­n report (FIR) in the matter. A case was registered under Sections 120 B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) and 417 (punishment for cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67 of the Informatio­n and Technology Act. In a police complaint given by examinatio­n superinten­dent at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Matlauda, Jai Kumar said that on Tuesday, he came across a video on WhatsApp where some people were seen solving Class 12 Hindi question paper.

The complainan­t could not divulge many details about the question paper and the accused. He, however, appealed the police to register an FIR against unknown accused for alleged paper leak.

While giving details, Matlauda police station in-charge Vikas Kumar said that an FIR has been registered against unknown accused on the complaint of Jai Kumar. He said that a probe has been initiated in the matter.

Station house officer said that an FIR was registered based on a video where some people were seen solving a question paper in a government primary school in Matlauda located near the examinatio­n centre. The police are yet to ascertain the authentici­ty of the video and the source who leaked the question paper as seen in the video.

Panipat SP Manisha Chaudhry said, “The police are identifyin­g the people seen in the video. However, no arrest has been made so far.”

Reacting to the allegation­s that Class 10 social science question paper was also circulated on social media on Wednesday, the SP said, “We did not get any complaint in this regard.”
