Day on, Hoshiarpur man’s 31-yr-old son also tests +ve
HOSHIARPUR/SBS NAGAR: The 31-year-old son of a coronavirus patient from Moranwali village in Garhshankar subdivision of Hoshiarpur district tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.
Confirming the third Covid-19 case in Hoshiarpur district, civil surgeon Dr Jasbir Singh said that teams were immediately despatched to the village to collect samples of all those persons who had come in contact with the patient and his 68-year-old father, who is undergoing treatment in Amritsar.
The health department said 18 residents of Moranwali were brought to the civil hospital here for testing following the government’s strict instructions that no contact of the infected person be left out of sampling. At the time of filing of this report, health teams had reached the village to collect samples of more people, including relatives of the infected men.
MOTHER OF BALACHAUR MAN WHO ENDED LIFE TESTS NEGATIVE
The mother of Australia-returned Balachaur man who committed suicide at Safadarjung Hospital in New Delhi last week has tested negative for coronavirus. The man along with his mother had arrived from Sydney on an Air India flight, that landed at the Indira Gandhi International
(IGI) Airport in the national capital.
The authorities took him to hospital, on suspicion of coronavirus infection, where he jumped from the seventh floor and committed suicide. The samples of a three-year-old girl and six-yearold boy, who belong to Balachaur and had returned from Italy, have also tested negative.
