LUDHIANA: Member of Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu on Thursday urged chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh to order FIRs to be registered against Akal Takht jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh and singers Diljit Dosanjh and Jazzy Bains for openly supporting Gurpatwant Pannu and pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ).

He said that the SFJ head Gurpatwant Pannu had mocked the Indian martyrs by writing a letter to China and stating that they “empathise” with China and “condemn” India for the violent face-off.

“Are they empathising with China for killing our soldiers, including four young men from Punjab, whose last rites are still going?,” he said.

Stating that the group is asking Sikh soldiers in Indian Army to join the Khalistan force for an additional salary of ₹5,000, Bittu said, “There is not enough wealth in the world that can alter Sikh soldiers’ spirit to sacrifice their lives for India, let alone betray the Indian army.”

“It sickens me that the Akal Takht jathedar , Diljit Dosanjh and Jazzy Bains, who hold high positions and enjoy luxuries and fame in India are supporting an organisation that is expressing joy over the killing of our Indian soldiers,” Bittu added.

The MP also asked Sukhbir Singh Badal, Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia to come clean on their stand with regards to the Jathedar.

“Are they still in his support? It still isn’t too late. I urge them to come forward and stop this fire from spreading further,” Bittu said.
