-

CHANDIGARH:The opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Saturday opposed the state government’s decision to have new pay scales for all fresh appointments in its department and other undertakings on the pattern of the central government.

According to the state’s finance department’ order on Friday, the new appointees will not get the benefit of the state pay scales, which are higher than those of the central government employees.

SAD treasurer and spokesman NK Sharma it is shocking to see that the Punjab government is continuously taking decision to cause maximum damage to the interests of the government employees.

He said that this government has already delayed the Sixth Pay Commission and has failed to give pending DA to the employees. He said that now the government has come up with a new decision to implement central government pay scales for the newly recruited employees in future. He said that this decision is unjustified and unwarranted.

GOVT’S ‘GHAR-GHARNAUKRI’ RHETORIC EXPOSED: AAP

The AAP demanded immediate withdrawal of its tall order, saying the Captain’s government’s so-called‘ghar-ghar-naukri’rhetoric stood exposed. Senior party leader and MLA Aman Arora and spokesperson Meet Hayer accused the state government of being anti-employee and demanded that it should bring out a “white paper” on the issue of ‘ghar-ghar’ jobs given to the youth to date. Arora said that the government’s decision would mean a quantum cut on the salaries of the newly-recruited employees by 35 to 40%.

Punjab Government Pensioners Welfare Association chief JS Sandhu said though the decision is meant for fresh appointees, the government is likely to make it applicable to all employees and pensioners.
