‘I definitely want to get back to work’
After a pause of over three months due to the nationwide lockdown because of the pandemic, a number of actors have felt restlessness and wish to get back to work. Especially now that the shootings of TV shows have resumed, they’re eager to get back including actor Arjun Bijlani. “I definitely want to get back to work,” he says, adding “But with all the safety precautions because at the end of the day, this virus is real. I think right now, producers will work on the existing projects, and then start something new.”
The Miley Jab Hum Tum actor admits that people’s lives are more important than their desire of getting back to work. “I am sure people are finding ways to shoot and with time, I think things will get better or at least we should hope that things get better with time. Because no matter how badly you want to work, I think you want to live much more than that. And you want to live healthy. This virus is quite scary, the after effects are bad and even if you recover, it takes a lot of time. We should be careful,” he says.
Bijlani has been utilising this lockdown to spend quality time with his five-year-old son Ayaan, and has also taken up cycling with friends. He enjoys cycling around Mount Mary Church and Bandstand. He says that he is using this time to do things that he wanted to do but couldn’t. “I never got the time for cycling earlier, and now I am getting it. I have been doing things that I wanted to do but couldn’t do. Because of the pollution in Mumbai, the traffic, nobody wants to cycle. But right now, the roads are empty in the morning, you get to breathe in the fresh air, so it’s a good time to cycle,” says the State of Siege: 26/11 actor.
