Congress MPs Bajwa, Dullo protest outside Parliament

- ANI

CHANDIGARH: Congress Rajya Sabha MPs Partap Singh Bajwa and Shamsher Singh Dullo on Monday held a protest against the agriculture ordinances in front of the Parliament House. The two MPs, who held banners to express solidarity with the farming community, said the Central government’s intention was not to strengthen the rights of the farmers, but to remove the MSP system by other means. “These ordinances are an attempt to enact the reforms suggested by the Shanta Kumar Committee, which were rejected by farmers in 2015,” they said.

Jalandhar MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary said the agriculture bills introduced by the Centre were beyond the legislative competence of Parliament.

Did you approve of move, Khaira asks CM

Punjab Ekta Party president Sukhpal Singh Khaira asked Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh to clarify whether he (CM) was consulted, and if yes, did he approve of the Centre’s farm ordinances.
