SC to hear ex-DGP Saini’s plea in Multani case today

NEW DELHI The Supreme Court will hear on Tuesday the plea of former Punjab director general of police (DGP) Sumedh Singh Saini seeking anticipatory bail in a case related to the alleged abduction and murder of a junior engineer Balwant Singh Multani in 1991. A three-judge bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhas Reddy and MR Shah will hear the plea. Saini has challenged the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s September 7 order which dismissed his anticipatory bail plea in the case.
