Four more held for attempting to leak Gram Sachiv paper
KARNAL: Four more people, including three women, were arrested for allegedly attempting to leak the Gram Sachiv question paper in Panipat on Thursday.
The accused are Jagpal, Sangeeta Rani, Nisha Rani and Seema, all residents of Panipat. Police said they were arrested after receiving information from those arrested on Monday.
An official police spokesperson said the women were produced in court and sent to judicial custody, whereas Jagpal will be produced in court on Friday. The exam was conducted on January 9 and 10.
On January, 11 the crime investigation agency (CIA) had arrested 14 people, including an owner of private school and his son. The police said that during interrogation, it came to the fore that the school owners had hired a paper solver and others to supply the answer key to candidates.
The police claimed that they were trying to leak the question paper on social media and distribute the answers to their candidates after solving it with the help of experts. Police have recovered 18 mobile phones, two laptops, one printer, one Bluetooth device, two ID cards and four cars from the accused.
Panipat superintendent of police Shahank Kumar Sawan said the accused have admitted that they had solved a few questions and given the answers to a candidate, who was appearing for the exam, with the help of a peon.
It has, however, not been established whether they had leaked the question paper outside the centre.
