Three murders in a day

As many as three murders have been reported in the last 24 hours in Haryana’s Jhajjar, Dadri and Rohtak districts.

In the first incident, a property dealer was allegedly shot dead by a group of assailants while his father and friend had received bullet injuries at Rohtak’s Baliyana village on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Vikas alias Vicky, who was out on parole, while his father Raghubir and friend Dinesh Kumar got injured and are undergoing treatment at the PostGradua­te Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS).

In his complaint, victim’s younger brother Amit Kumar said his brother was playing cards with a group of people while his friend and father were playing cards in another group at a service station near their property dealing house in the village.

“Suddenly, five to six assailants intercepte­d my brother and three of them went near my father. They pumped 10 to 15 bullets into my brother’s body and he died on the spot. They fired shots at my father and Dinesh as well. The same group had pumped 16 bullets into my brother’s body in 2016 but he had survived at that time and his friend had died,” he added.

Rohtak superinten­dent of police (SP) Rahul Sharma said they have registered a case against Rajesh, Raja, Sumit and Yoganand of the victim’s village, and Sonu, Mukesh,

Naveen Councillor and Rahul Councillor under Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder, 120-B (criminal conspiracy ) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 25 of the Arms Act.

In the second incident, a seven-year-old girl was allegedly killed by her father with an axe at their house in Jhajjar’s Dighal village in the wee hours of Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Deepika, while her brother received minor injuries.

In her complaint, victim’s mother Lalita said that her husband Anand, who was an alcoholic, killed their daughter with an axe and fled the house.

In the third incident, a 23-year-old man, identified as Nitesh alias Jonny, of Dudwa village in Dadri district, was allegedly shot dead by three assailants near his neighbour’s house on Friday night.

Dadri deputy superinten­dent of police Bali Singh said the incident took place when three assailants came to the victim’s house and called him outside.
