EVENT: WOMEN'S BALANCE BEAM FINAL Simone Biles will make a belated first appearance at the Tokyo Olympics. Struggling with her mental health and the "twisties", Biles dramatically withdrew from the team final and four individual event finals over the last week. She is slated to compete in the balance beam final, where she won bronze in the 2016 Rio Games.
WRESTLING Sonam Malik
EVENT: WOMEN'S FREESTYLE 62KG 1/8 FINAL Sonam has been handed a tough draw in her maiden outing at the Olympic stage. She will open India’s wrestling campaign against Bolortuya Khurelkhuu from Mongolia, who won silver at the Asian Championships this year. If she manages to beat the more experienced wrestler, she is likely to run into 2018 world champion Taybe Mustafa Yusein from Bulgaria in the quarter-finals.
ATHLETICS Tajinderpal Singh Toor
EVENT: MEN’S SHOT PUT QUALIFICATION The reigning Asian Games gold medallist will look to put on a creditable show at the Games. He is up against a quality field, but should take confidence from the fact that his personal best throw of 21.49m in June this year, that also broke the national record, is above the mark of 21.20m required for an automatic berth for the final.

EVENT: MEN’S POLE VAULT FINAL The world record pole vaulter will be in action, folks. Armand Duplantis had a remarkable 2020 season, setting a new indoor mark of 6.18m in February and returning to action by setting the outdoor mark at 6.15m in September. This year, he hasn't gone beyond 6.10m. Can he surpass that in Tokyo?
