As she basks in the success of her recent release, Tanu weds Manu Returns, actor Swara Bhaskar (right) says that all actors are very “selfish”, and she doesn’t exclude herself from this tag either. “For any actor, their own role is very important. I am only focused on my role. I guess as actors, we are very selfish people. You are always worried about how you are looking and acting. Everyone is like, ‘I want to be the best and stand out in whatever I am doing, big or small’,” says Swara, who will be seen in actor Salman Khan’s upcoming film.

Talking about Khan, Swara says that she didn’t think he would be so nice. “It (working with him) was interesting as well as daunting. I have never worked with Salman. He is a huge star and has a larger-than-life presence. I found him to be very pleasant and nice. I did not expect such a big star to be so nice,” says Swara adding, “He has great energy and is very co-operative. He is interesting to watch. He is very particular about what he is doing and improvises fearlessly. That is such a lovely quality.”

Asked what she thinks about competition in the industry, Swara says that she has always taken it in a positive light. “We have a lot of talented actors in Bollywood. I think it is good to have competition because it keeps you on your toes. I don’t think too much about things that are not in my control. I think you should focus on doing good work and not stress too much,” she says.
