Now Perry attacks Taylor Swift
American pop star Katy Perry (above) has waded into rumoured rival Taylor Swift (inset, below right) and Nicki Minaj’s (inset, right) Twitter feud by poking fun at Swift’s choice of words.
A day after Swift and Minaj had a heated argument over the raptress’ MTV Video Music Award nominations, Perry took to Twitter to seemingly criticise Swift, reported Ace Showbiz. “Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalises on the take down of a woman... (sic),” Perry wrote.
In a follow-up tweet, Perry gave a shout-out to Rihanna as she expressed her disappointment over the exclusion of the Bajan singer’s Better Have My Money from all categories at the VMAs. “The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1... @MTV,” she continued.
Minaj and Swift got into an online spat after Minaj found out her Anaconda video wasn’t nominated for the coveted Video of the Year Award. “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year,” Minaj complained on Twitter.
Swift, one of only two female artists nominated for the big prize, felt attacked by the comment. “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot,” Swift responded.
Minaj spent the rest of the day trying to make it clear that her tweet wasn’t directed at Swift or anyone in particular.
