Sid, Kat to go the prosthetics way
Actors Sidharth Malhotra (left) and Katrina Kaif (right) will play a couple ageing from 30 to 60 in an upcoming movie, and will wear prosthetics make-up for it. The untitled love story, which is actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar’s home production, will be helmed by debutante director Nitya Mehra.
“There are different age groups that we have to play in the film. I have to age as the character grows. I am playing a character who grows from the age of 28 to 46 to 60. And to play these parts, is tougher for me. I am excited to try prosthetics to get the look,” says Sidharth. “Katrina and I are trying different looks. We have a great prosthetics team from London Mark Hulio, who’ve won an Oscar,” adds the 30-year-old actor, all praise for the international prosthetics make-up team, saying that they’ve got great technology to put silicon masks, change eye colour, hair, etc. “We’ve done enough workshops, and are quite excited to start the shoot now,” says Sidharth.
There were reports that the project is more of a time travel movie but the actor denies it. “It is not a period film... it’s not time travel. It is a love story that spans across different age groups,” says Sidharth, who will be seen alongside actor Akshay Kumar in an upcoming film. Does he get nervous working with established stars like Akshay and Katrina? “Not really,” he concludes.
