Like father, like daughter

Ajay Devgn says that just like him, his daughter Nysa is a private person and it’s her decision to stay away from the limelight

Actor Ajay Devgn (above) is one of those celebrities who don’t enjoy too much attention. And like him, his 12-year- old daughter Nysa is also a private person. “She doesn’t like all the attention she gets as a star kid. She is on a lot of social media platforms but all her accounts are private. And it’s not something we have asked her to do, it is her own decision. And we like to keep them away (from the limelight). She is quite like me,” says Ajay, who also has a four-year-old son Yug, with wife, actor Kajol. In fact the actor says that being low-key is a family trait. “I don’t like socialising too much either. I finish my work, sit back and let the work speak for me,” says Ajay, who is enjoying the success of his latest release.

Although Nysa doesn’t like the glamorous part of showbiz, she is interested in films, and does give feedback to her father about his work. “Yes, she sometimes tells me that you were good in this film or you weren’t good in that,” he shares. “She says you should do the roles you are comfortable doing. Don’t do characters where you aren’t being yourself. Be who you are and do roles that your audience want you to do. You don’t need to do roles that need you to dance around trees — that’s something she tells me,” says the 46-year-old.

As for Kajol, who will be seen on the big screen after a gap of almost five years, he says, “I am very happy for her. I am looking forward to her film.” Asked if they discuss work at home, he says, “We don’t discuss films or work, but we do watch films together,” he says.
