‘Ab date nahi karega toh kab karega?’

Reacting to son Tiger’s dating rumours, actor Jackie Shroff says he hasn’t met ‘the girl’ but he’d be happy if the news is true

Whether actor Tiger Shroff (inset) is dating aspiring actor Disha Patani or not may still be unclear. But one thing is sure, he has the approval and support of his daddy dearest. Talking to us about how his son is busy making a career for himself, actor Jackie

Shroff (right) says: “He (Tiger) is so focused that I wonder when he gets the time to date. Let him enjoy. He is young. Ab date nahi karega toh kab karega?”

While Tiger is yet to confirm the buzz, Jackie says he’d only be glad if the rumours are true. “I haven’t met Disha, but if Tiger is dating her, then it’s fantastic. If he cares for the girl and she cares for him, then there’s nothing wrong with it,” says the 58-year-old actor, who made his debut in Bollywood with Swami Dada (1982). Jackie went on to be known for his actionhero image, and says he’s happy that Tiger, too, went on to impress everyone with his action skills in his debut film, Heropanti (2014).

What other traits does his son share with him, we ask. “Tiger is grounded and respects everyone. One must hold on to the ground, as only then will they touch the sky on their own. I, too, have always been that way,” says Jackie, who was in the Capital to attend the launch of Fever 104’s new show, Sainath — Sab Ka Malik Ek.

The actor says doing the voiceover for the show was a great experience. “I’m delighted to have got the honour of playing Sainath. (It was like) I was completely possessed when I was doing the voice over. The emotions came directly from the heart,” says Jackie.
