Actor Nushrat Bharucha (right), who is best known for her role in the film Pyar ka Punchnama (2011), says that she does not read newspapers as news about other actors’ careers makes her nervous. “Competition makes me apprehensive. If I read reports of an actor bagging a project, I feel why was I not cast. I try to deal with this by keeping myself away from tabloids,” says the 30-year-old actor.

While she is open to taking up different roles, Nushrat has a few guidelines too. “I am not okay doing a film where the concept of a woman is objectified. But of course, if there is a story like Parched, which comments on the state of women, I will be open to being a part of it,” she says, adding that she is not comfortable taking up too many projects simultaneously. “I have always done one film at a time. I am comfortable with that. I want to start a film and then have dates to see it right till the end,” says Nushrat, who will soon be seen in the sequel of Pyaar Ka Punchnama.

“The first film came out four years back. I feel that this is the right time for the sequel,” she signs off.
